The term cell reference is defined as a combination which comprises the serial number of the column and the letter of the row in which a cell appears. The columns in which the cells appear are always serialised in numerical digits, whereas the rows in which the cells appear are always serialised in the alphabetical order.

The term cell reference is defined as the address or the name of a specific cell. All cell references may be used in formulae. There can either be relative cell references or absolute cell references. Cell reference is basically a spreadsheet application, and Microsoft Excel is a software program that can be used for the purpose of cell referencing.

In the simplest terms, the phrase cell reference is defined as the name of a cell which is used in a formula. Apart from relative cell references and absolute cell references, there can also be mixed cell references. Red cell referencing is done in a red cell reference laboratory.
