PUK is personal unblocking code for SIM Security. One can get it by calling to service provider after passing though security questions.

your phone can become blocked in a number of ways - one of them is if you enter your SIM card PIN number incorrectly three times. But don't panic, you can unblock your SIM card with something called a PUK(Personal Unblocking Key).

The PUK is a 'PIN Unlock Key' and it is required when you simcard gets blocked, possibly because you entered your PIN wrong for more than 3 times. It  is usually 8 digits long and it is uniquely linked to your simcard.

Your mobile network usually gives it to you when you buy your SIM card and you can find it on the back of the big card ( the one you take the simcard out of):

If you lost it or don't have it, you can contact your mobile network and after answering some security questions, they will give it to you. Once you get it, you will have to enter it to your phone and probably you will be asked to select a new PIN number.

Avoid trying to guess your PUK code because after you enter the wrong one for 10 times your simcard will get permanently locked and you will have to get a new one.

Hope this helps!
