Candy Crush is a game that started off primarily for Facebook users, however now it has developed and is widely used as a mobile app.

Gameplay

The game is played by completing levels, each level containing a grid filled with different coloured and shaped pieces of 'candy'. The aim of the game is to match up three pieces of candy to those of the same colour and shape.

This is done by swapping one piece of candy with the one next to it, however a certain score must be achieved within a certain amount moves, in order to move on to the next level.

On certain levels there are some obstacles to overcome, such as jelly covering some of the candy, or blocks that you need to get around. As you progress into the game the levels will get harder and harder to complete, with less moves and more obstacles.

Addictiveness

Candy crush is the most popular game on facebook and in 2012 had about 6.7 million people playing it!

I think the reason the game is so addictive is because it is so simple to play and achieve results.

When you have completed one level you instantly want to play another. You are also able to play the game against friends, so there may be a bit of competitiveness when people play against each other.
