Can You Differentiate Cpu Burst Cycle And I/o Burst Cycle?

Almost all process alternate between two states in a continuing  "cycle".
--- A CPU burst of performing calculations, and
----An I/O burst, waiting for data transfer in or out of the system.
CPU bursts vary from process to process, and from program to program

Burst cycle is a time required between the CPU and the I/O waits. It can not be calculated before a process really begins. Execution of a process contains alternate CPU and I/O bursts. But it starts and ends with CPU burst.
