What Does Facebook Number Status Mean?

The Facebook Number Game is one that you will often see friends participating in on your news feed. The Number Game’s page (www.facebook.com/TheNumberGame?v=info#) describes the game as "a fun, interactive game that you can play with your Facebook friends! Here is how it works: Facebook users can ask their friends what they think about them by supplying them with a number through a message. The friend then gives the answer via a status, and attaches the number to their answer for identification purposes.”

The step by step guide states that the first thing you should do is to post a status on your profile that asks friends to send you their favourite message through a private message. You should say that if your friend does this then you will put this number into a status and write feedback about them. Once you have received numbers from your friends you will then need to post different statuses for each friend that start with their corresponding number. The feedback you give can be a compliment, it could be something that you like or dislike about them, or it could be something that you have always wanted to them. You can then encourage your friends to do the same so that you can find out what you think of them. The anonymity of the numbers allows your other friends to try and guess who it is that you are talking about.

Women started posting their bra color as their Facebook status originally to raise awareness for breast cancer, not just for fun or to tease the hell out of men. This information obviously reached only a few women at the time, but I guess it's better to know late than never what it was all about.

That are games. Someone tells you on chat e.g. To write your favourite colour there .. So many people do that to confuse others because they don't know what that means .. Its the same with numbers

It was sent as a message to post the color of your bra...and just the color, it was supposed to be fun and we weren't supposed to tell men what the hell was going on. Made the men wonder...but it was kinda lame at the same time.

I started doing this for fun, in opposition to the women posting colors.  It was in support of awareness for Testicular Cancer, and the number of times that day that I touched... You get the picture.
