Short answer is: It's not possible to block someone from reading your IP address. There is no equivalent to "Caller ID block" in the IP world, you can't form a connection without supplying your IP address - otherwise the remote system couldn't send a reply to you. The better answer is to get a NATing router for $50 at Best Buy or Circuit City. Your PC will then have a different/hidden IP address and will not be as vulnerable to attack.
