Computer is important in networking because without computer it will be impossible to share resources(i.e files, videos, sounds, audios, picture, etc) and communication between two or more people will not be possible.

In A role of computer in network  is a lot of computers connected together for the purpose of sharing resources. The most well-known resource shared today is connection to the Internet. Other shared resources may include printers or file servers. The Internet can be considered a computer network itself.

A computer network is a lot of  connected computers. Computers on a network are called nodes. The connection between computers should be possible by means of cabling, most commonly the Ethernet cable, or wireless through radio waves. Connected computers can share resources, similar to access to the Internet, printers, file servers, and others. A network is a multipurpose connection, which enables a  single computer to do more.

The networking is all about computers. You can't make a network with two computers at least. A network can be as small as two computers or it can be as large as thousands of computers. You need a lan card, lan cable and switch to make a big network.
